From late April to early May 2026, I spent a lot of time talking to Wizard, aka th3w1zard1, an acquaintance in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KotOR) modding community via Discord DMs, and he turned out to be one of the most toxic people I have ever interacted with personally, so on 13 May 2026, I decided to block him to stop him from sending me more DMs.
Now, I have decided to document instances of Wizard's toxic behaviour in our DMs. A fair warning, this document is really long, because there is a lot to unpack in our interactions despite it taking place over the course of only two to three weeks, with my assessment on why Wizard's behaviour is highly problematic, and why we are fundamentally incompatible.
Content Warning: Emotional abuse and manipulation combined with ableism.
My History with Wizard
Permalink to section 'My History with Wizard'Wizard and I got acquainted for a long time due to our shared interest in KotOR modding. However, in late April 2026, he suddenly started to talk to me about personal matters because he read my website, leilukin.com, and claimed that he never saw anyone sharing about themselves publicly other than short-form content, which is ignorant of the decades-long history of the existence of personal websites and blogs especially given that he is not that much younger than me (when this exchange happened, I was almost 34, and he was 31). I, on the other hand, was never interested in getting to know him personally, so I explicitly told him multiple times that I only considered him an acquaintance in a modding community.
Throughout our one-on-one interactions via Discord DMs, it became clear that Wizard had serious issues with respecting boundaries, respecting cultures outside his specific US-American one, and respecting autistic people including me, so I will never consider him a friend. Some other red flags he had shown:
- He called me "(one of) the most interesting people [he has] met", then later at some point said he "cannot stand most people". This is classic love bombing, a manipulation tactic to make someone feel special.
- He often went into tangents about how ADHD and more frequently, his Puritan upbringing made him think and act the way he did, especially when he tried to justify himself having "good intentions" when I pushed back against something he said. In fact, for a while he actually had "Puritan" in his Discord display name, which showed how much he made his Puritan upbringing part of his identity. At one point I even had to tell him that I am not his therapist.
Wizard's Disrespect towards Autism and Autistic People
Permalink to section 'Wizard's Disrespect towards Autism and Autistic People'I am autistic, very open about that fact on my website, and I repeatedly brought up how autism has a significant role in how I act, think and socialise. However, Wizard has shown a lack of respect for autism and autistic people like me throughout our interactions.
Some examples of Wizard's disrespect towards autism and autistic people in our DMs:
- Firstly, Wizard asked if I was "truly disabled or a savant". I told him something along the lines of autism being a spectrum and thus cannot be simplified into labels of "truly disabled" or a "savant". He even asked something along the lines of if I was, or thought I was, better than other autistic people. I said that thinking of myself as better is disrespectful to other fellow autistic people. In hindsight, it became clear that he was also projecting his superiority complex onto me.
- He said I might have Asperger's and suggested I got an official diagnosis. I told him that Asperger's is an outdated term, so I just call myself autistic. I think I had also told him I am self-diagnosed, but I cannot remember whether it was before or after this Asperger's conversation. Regardless, in retrospect, this was the first red flag of him trying to act like he knew my body better than I do before the disastrous conversation about my retinitis pigmentosa condition (see the section about his ableism towards my visual disability below).
- When he called my Malaysian society norm of preferring text messages to phone calls "crazy", I pushed back and told him he should not call a societal and cultural norm that is different from his "crazy". Wizard responded by claiming it was just "slang". Later he conceded that my autistic mind interprets metaphors and sarcasm literally. For context, this line of conversation started because Wizard repeatedly asked for us to have voice chat more than once, even after I already told him we were not close enough for me to be comfortable to have a one-on-one voice chat with yet when he asked the first time. Wizard claimed he asked for voice chat because his own local US-American area prefers phone calls. Worth noting that even after he conceded that my autism interprets his word choice of "crazy" literally, he still tried to push the narrative that phone calls are somehow preferred, by asking if I was just unaware of phone calls being a very common day-to-day method of communication, even after I already told him that here in Malaysia, we still do use phone calls, though it is typically for emergency, commercial or business purposes. Therefore, this line of conversation is also another example of Wizard's incapability to respect cultures outside his very specific US-American one. In retrospect, it was clear that Wizard pushed for voice chats and preferred phone calls because voice calls made it easier for him to dominate a conversation in real-time through his tone and voice.
- Later, at one point when I brought up my autism again to explain why I act the way I am, and outright told him he had a long way to go to understand autistic people, he said he wondered if people just let me be because they were too afraid to disagree with me. I asked him if this was what he thought interacting with autistic people like me was like, he accused me of projecting, brought up having a few autistic people in his life who he claimed were not alike, and called my bringing up autism "disingenuous". Remember, this is a guy who had repeatedly used his ADHD (along with his Puritan upbringing) to excuse his own behaviour. The level of his hypocrisy is off the charts.
Wizard's US-American-centric Worldview and Dismissal of Cultures outside US-America
Permalink to section 'Wizard's US-American-centric Worldview and Dismissal of Cultures outside US-America'Aside from the above-mentioned conversation about societal preferences for text messages vs. phone calls, one of the examples of Wizard showing lack of respect for cultures outside his own specific US-American one in our DMs was when he brought up the fact that I am multilingual, specifically I can speak Mandarin, English, Cantonese and Malay:
- He acted shocked that I can speak four languages, while he admitted he could only speak one. In my experience, being shocked at someone speaking multiple languages is peak US-American behaviour. In many parts of the world, including my country Malaysia, learning multiple languages is a practical, and in some situations essential, skill for our daily life.
- When I told him I learned Cantonese through growing up with Hong Kong media, he said he does not know what Hong Kong media is, and asked why they do not just use Mandarin. I told him that since I neither live in mainland China nor am I a Hongkonger, it's not a subject I can answer carelessly because the relationship between Hong Kong and mainland China is a sensitive political issue, and all I know for sure is that Hong Kong is close to the Cantonese-speaking areas of mainland China. I later told him I got testy by his question because many Westerners treat Asians like a monolith. He then responded by saying he did not know what "Hongkonger" or "monolith" meant. Wizard's dismissal of the Cantonese language is deeply ironic, because there is a Cantonese phrase that perfectly describes him: "識少少,扮代表", which translates to "knowing a little bit but pretending to be an expert".
- When I told him English is a mandatory subject in school in my country, he asked why English would be mandatory outside US and Europe. I told him that English is an international language, so learning it means we would be able to communicate with as many people around the world as possible.
Wizard's Ableism towards My Visual Disability
Permalink to section 'Wizard's Ableism towards My Visual Disability'The last straw that made me decide Wizard unquestionably crossed into the territory of being actively harmful to my well-being was his reactions to learning that I have retinitis pigmentosa (RP) through my website:
- He brought up the existence of research into treatment for RP, and suggested I seek treatment instead of saying RP currently has no cure (which is a fact) and "resigning to going blind" by learning to use screen readers.
- When I pushed back against him for trying to tell me what to do with my own visual disability by questioning him about what made him think he had the right to do so, he responded by saying my message "nearly triggered" him, and claiming he was being "empathetic" and that my article "touched his heart". It is worth noting that I have explicitly stated in my article about my RP condition that I do not seek pity, and yet he got so melodramatic and had the audacity to claim he was not pitying me.
- When I reminded Wizard that he was merely an acquaintance and not a friend as an attempt to reject his unsolicited advice, Wizard threw a fit by asking "So I am not a person and my feelings don't matter". I responded with a facepalm emoji and a question: how does an acquaintance translate to "not a person"?
- After my initial push-back, he asked if I was a debate person, to which I flat out replied that no, I am not and I cannot stand most debate people. He went into a long-winded tangent about how debates "help reach understanding". In his tangent, he used the analogy of someone living in North Korea talking in North Korean propaganda, and had the gall to claim he was not saying that was what was literally happening here — he had the nerve to backpedal on it when he was comparing someone living with a progressive visual disability like RP stating the medical objective reality that RP has no cure to state-sponsored indoctrination in an isolationist totalitarian country. I explained that I consider communications with the goal of reaching understanding discussions, and questioned him what about my RP condition to "debate" over. Later I also explained that I cannot stand debate people because many of them argue for the sake of arguing and do not argue in good faith. Only then did Wizard backpedal by claiming that was what he thought I meant. If anything, Wizard is a prime example of why I find "debater" type personalities insufferable.
- Later he continued to offer unsolicited suggestions for treating RP, by listing countries where the treatment research was available, using the term "fight for your sight", and even offering to "help" with US citizenship so I can seek treatment. I responded that I have no interest in migrating to another country just to treat RP, given how fundamentally life-changing immigration is.
- He asked me if I knew how long my sight would last (I plainly said I have no idea), and if my sight will last long enough to see the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake and Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. I replied that I am not interested in the KotOR remake and FotOR until we actually know more about those games, and that while I intend to enjoy the video games I love as much as I am able, audio games exist.
- When I expressed my wish to move on from the RP topic, he guilt-tripped me by suggesting that I am "wasting scientific resources made to help people with RP like me" for not seeking treatment. I simply doubled down on my wish to move on from the topic.
Even "patronising" would be an understatement to describe his reactions to my RP condition. What Wizard was displaying was an astonishing level of ableism mixed with saviour complex.
Worth noting that:
- I deliberately included the disability pride flag that I coded myself with CSS and shared the CSS code on my website to the public at the end of my article about my RP condition. Wizard failed to acknowledge the disability pride flag when he interrogated me about my RP condition, and it was painfully obvious that Wizard thoroughly missed the point of my inclusion of the disability pride flag. His downright ableist attitude to my RP condition proved why Disability Pride became a thing in the first place. It is poetic that I am publishing this document about a deeply ableist former acquaintance in July, which is also Disability Pride Month.
- Despite his earlier claim that he didn't trust search engines, when Wizard started interrogating me about my retinitis pigmentosa condition, he told me that he found mentions of treatment just by searching the web, so I was wrong to claim that RP has no cure. Note that I actually specifically said in my website article that RP currently has no cure.
- My own parents, who actually accompanied me when I visited my eye doctors, accept my RP condition, and never once tried to suggest I seek treatment or cure for RP. In fact, they suggested I research how to apply for disability benefits in Malaysia, which I did. I also have friends and acquaintances, including online ones living in US-America, who knew about my RP condition, but are also supportive, and none of them attempted to "debate" me when I stated that RP has no cure. Yet, a near-stranger like Wizard acted like he knew my life and medical condition better than I do.
My Break from Wizard's DMs and Eventual Block of Wizard
Permalink to section 'My Break from Wizard's DMs and Eventual Block of Wizard'After the RP conversation, I outright told him that I needed a break because talking to him was seriously draining me. After taking time to reflect, I sent him a final DM to express my intent to limit our interactions to our shared niche interest, and telling him that his dialogue about my personal matters and RP condition was extremely intrusive. Meanwhile, I also sent him a Bash script he originally created to help me run tga2tpc, a KotOR modding tool for converting textures from TGA format to TPC format, on Linux. I modified the Bash script to improve it (see also the section about Wizard's technical incompetence below for the full context behind this Bash script).
He responded with a series of messages sent at different times, about him being "sorry", offering me to vent at any time because his DMs are a "safe space" (the audacity to make such a claim after I told him his dialogue about my personal matters was extremely intrusive), claiming he "doesn't know what he's doing" and it "took a while for him to understand my message". Yet he did not say a single word about the Bash script I sent. It was clear that he had no intention to truly change and improve himself by respecting other people's boundaries, despite trying to pretend otherwise during our interactions, so I did not respond and just decided to block him for good. It was also obvious at that point that Wizard did not, or at least no longer, actually care about the technical collaboration aspect of our acquaintanceship, and instead he treated the collaboration as a means to force intimacy with me.
Worth noting that I was not even the first person who had blocked him for disrespecting boundaries. Earlier at one point in our conversation, he brought up his final conversation, along with a screenshot, with Snigaroo, who is known for curating the KotOR Community Portal mod builds, who had also blocked him for repeatedly proving to be incapable of respecting boundaries. Wizard asked if this was how I felt when he repeatedly asked us to have voice chats even after I initially refused because we were not close enough yet. I directly told him yes. This proves that Wizard's boundary violation is a pattern of behaviour.
Wizard Treating Me as a Human Encyclopedia
Permalink to section 'Wizard Treating Me as a Human Encyclopedia'In our DMs Wizard also treated me like a human encyclopedia, by asking me questions and claiming to not trust AI's biased output. I asked him why he does not use search engines, and pointed out that I am just one person, and there are more established sources like Wikipedia to seek information from. Wizard claimed that he was terrified of algorithm "groupthink", and that he "valued my opinions", and he deflected by saying AI critics encourage "talking to people" and yet I was suggesting he use search engines, despite me never explicitly stating my stance on AI to him. I told him I felt the burden to educate him, he dismissed it with "burden again", calling back to our earlier conversations about my burden of emotional labour when he repeatedly went into meta-conversation tangents.
Wizard acted like he was entitled to interrogate me and my personal life just because he read my website, yet he also showed his unwillingness to read through what I wrote before jumping to assumptions and conclusions on more than one occasion:
- He discovered my website article about why I personally do not subscribe to the “Arren Kae is Kreia” theory, and dismissed the theory as brainless. I countered that despite me not subscribing to the theory, my article does link to a Let's Play archive that compiles the evidence to support the theory. He repeatedly asked where the link was, until I had to actually take and share a screenshot showing the part of my article that contains the link.
- When I shared my blog post about receiving a lifetime premium membership from Nexus Mods for free in the Discord server of OpenKotOR, a KotOR modding community focusing on reverse-engineering KotOR's game engine and developing mod development tools, Wizard DM'ed me to "speculate" that Nexus Mods only gave me a free premium membership out of pity and tokenism because of my autism, despite the fact that my blog post explicitly mentioned Nexus Mods' program to reward free Premium memberships to mod authors, with a link to that program. When I pointed out his wrong assumptions, I outright told him he was embarrassing himself for not even reading through my blog post before jumping to making such a baseless assumption.
Wizard's Technical Incompetence
Permalink to section 'Wizard's Technical Incompetence'Although Wizard's primary contribution to the KotOR modding community was software development, I cannot even trust Wizard's competence and integrity as a software developer any more, because it became clear in our DMs that he used technology and software development expertise for clout first and foremost, and severely lacked professionalism.
It started in early May when I attempted to ask Wizard in DMs for a Linux-compatible tool to convert KotOR's texture from TGA format to TPC format, which was how that tga2tpc Bash script came to be in the first place.
I was trying to update my Belaya's Unique Look mod, a mod for KotOR 1 that involved texture modding, after receiving a request from a Nexus Mods user for a version of Dark Side Belaya head without the yellow Sith eyes. I had used tga2tpc, which was developed by ndix UR, to convert the textures' TGA format to TPC when I was using Windows. However, since I had switched to using Linux desktop full-time, I realised that tga2tpc could not work even with Wine, the compatibility layer to run Windows programs on Unix-like operating systems including Linux, so I asked Wizard if he knew of any TPC tools that work on Linux, because tga2tpc had no Linux version and could not work with Wine.
He tried to offer the TPC editor he developed for the Holocron Toolset Version 4, which was and still is in beta (the original stable version of Holocron Toolset was developed by Cortisol, and Wizard's contribution came later), but it was buggy since the TPC textures turned out to be broken in-game, with Belaya's head texture showing black spots. After a while, Wizard asked me why I did not just use tga2tpc on Linux, so I had to repeat myself: tga2tpc does not have a Linux version and does not even work with Wine, and reminded him I already told him before. Worth noting that he could have verified the fact that tga2tpc has no Linux version himself by just checking the download page of tga2tpc on Deadly Stream and tried to download it.
That was when Wizard came up with the solution of creating the Bash script to run tga2tpc headlessly from tga2tpc's source code. However, the script contained Carriage Return Line Feed (CRLF) line endings, which is used by Windows but not Linux, so I needed to use the tool dos2unix to convert CRLF line endings to Line Feed (LF) line endings so the script could actually be executed on Linux. I thanked Wizard for making the script, then he suggested that I create a PR for OpenKotOR's fork of tga2tpc with the Bash script, despite him being the original creator, because he wanted to give the impression that it was a community project. The idea of taking credit for a work I did not create did not sit right with me, but I accepted his suggestion, and ended the hours-long troubleshooting session, then he said "I thought we were bonding". I directly told him I do not consider spending hours fixing bugs as personal as the word "bonding" suggests.
When I took a break from his DMs, I eventually decided to go against Wizard's suggestion for creating the PR myself. Instead, I improved the Bash script further by adding help tips when the script was executed without arguments, and returned the script to him.
In addition, when I asked Wizard if he knew of any Linux-compatible tools to upscale KotOR textures (since I also provided upscaled textures in my Belaya's Unique Look mod), Wizard simply threw me an AI-generated list, along with a link to a Grok AI chat, which showed he would rather toss out AI-generated answers instead of admitting he did not know. I ended up asking Sith Holocron, a veteran KotOR modder, for help with upscaling my Belaya textures, since he offered to help because he had a Topaz Gigapixel subscription.
At an early point in our DMs, Wizard told me I was the first person he knew who had switched to Linux and did not know more about Linux than he did. I asked him how experienced he was with Linux, he answered with "very" in italics, then went on about how people back in the day showed off their Linux expertise by sharing niche things they did on Linux. However, Wizard later questioned my choice of using Neovim as my default code editor, which surprised me because Vim has earned the reputation of being a nerd editor, so someone who claimed to be very experienced in Linux should not question why someone uses a Vim-like editor. I explained that some of us prefer to keep our development workflow in the terminal as much as possible.
Not to mention, a software developer who claimed to be very experienced in Linux should not make the rookie mistake of having CRLF line endings in a Bash script. The difference between CRLF and LF line endings was one of the first things I learned the hard way when switching to using Linux full-time. The presence of CRLF line endings proved that the Bash script Wizard gave me was made on Windows, without actually being tested on Linux. Tellingly, Wizard even admitted that he hoped his Bash script skills had not gotten rusty. I had to run dos2unix on his Bash script to fix the script's line endings before sending it back to him in my final DM to him. It became clear that Wizard used his experience in Linux for bragging rights rather than any practical purpose.
During our DMs, Wizard also loved to ask me to check out the various tools developed by the OpenKotOR community. I had to tell him I would check them out in my own pace. One of the tools he recommended was KotOR Forge, the mod development toolset from KotOR.js, which was created by KobaltBlu, also known as Blue, who is also the owner of the OpenKotOR Discord server, with Wizard pitching it as a solution to KotOR modding tooling that does not require installing on your local computer. When I tried it out, and told him that it does not work on Firefox, my default web browser, he suggested I filed a bug report in the OpenKotOR Discord server. After I blocked Wizard, I checked out the documentation of KotOR.js on its GitHub repository, and found out that its incompatibility with Firefox was already documented, so I did not file any "bug report" for it in the OpenKotOR server. This was further proof of Wizard's refusal to do even the bare minimum effort in doing his own research, even about the tools developed by his community, despite pushing me to check those tools out.
Wizard had the nerve to claim he valued my opinion over the "groupthink" of search engine algorithms and biased output of AIs to justify treating me like a human encyclopedia to extract information from, then only a few days later tried to "debate" me on how I choose to live with my visual disability, after I rejected his unsolicited advice based on his own web search.
Wizard's claim about not trusting AI's biased output was also completely hollow, since he littered his codebase with AI assets like a .cursor folder and an often long AGENTS.md file, as seen in his GitHub repositories for:
- PyKotor (Wayback Machine links: repository,
.cursorfolder, andAGENTS.md) - ModSync (Wayback Machine links: repository,
.cursorfolder andAGENTS.md) - KPatcher (Wayback Machine links: repository,
.cursorfolder andAGENTS.md) ...and so on, and threw me an AI-generated answer with a link to an AI chat when I asked him for a Linux-compatible image upscaling tool. In fact, at one point in our DMs, he admitted to me that vibe coding is a free-time hobby of his. As a cherry on top, as of this writing, Wizard's GitHub profile (Note: the link is a Wayback Machine snapshot, since Wizard has changed his GitHub username from th3w1zard1 to bodencrouch (Wayback Machine snapshot)) has included "Agentic Engineer since 2024" in his bio. In other words, Wizard is making AI a significant part of his identity, yet he had the audacity to claim that he did not trust AI's output because it was biased.
In hindsight, Wizard's reliance on Cursor, an AI-powered code editor with a graphical user interface (GUI), also explained why he questioned my choice to use a terminal-based editor like Neovim as my default code editor. I had written a blog post about my decision to switch from Visual Studio Code to Neovim as my default code editor (which I had shared with Wizard when I explained why I use Neovim) back in April 2025, and I still do not regret the decision in the slightest. I have no desire to go back to Visual Studio Code unless truly necessary, and I especially have even less desire to touch an AI-powered Visual Studio Code fork like Cursor.
Wizard's Lack of Respect for Boundaries
Permalink to section 'Wizard's Lack of Respect for Boundaries'Wizard was so relentless in asking me unwanted questions about me and my personal life just because he read my website, to the point that he did not even realise I never asked him a single question about himself personally until I pointed it out to him at one point. I also had to tell him more than once that I do not share everything about my personal life on my website. At a different point I even suggested he look up the concept of parasocial relationships, because that was what his attempt to force friendship with me simply because he read my website was like. He denied it and misinterpreted what parasocial means by saying "it's worship, right?".
Wizard was so relentless in sending me DMs that our conversations could end up lasting hours despite me never considering him a friend. I had to spend a lot of time reinforcing my boundaries and engaging in meta conversations about our interactions, to the extent I had to tell him I have many other things to do, including being in other online communities, than talking to him.
At one point before the disastrous conversation about my retinitis pigmentosa condition, Wizard shared a clip from Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts Episode 29 "Note Block Universe", specifically the part about Green pushing away some people, meeting Purple, and Purple pushing Green away when they climb a mountain. Wizard claimed this represented where we were at, with Green being him and how he could not stand most people, and Purple being me, then declared that he wished we would one day be able to climb the mountain together. I did not respond to Wizard, but this made me even more keenly aware of how much Wizard refused to respect my boundaries for only considering him an acquaintance and not a friend, as well as how extremely pushy he was in forcing intimacy with me.
During our DMs, Wizard occasionally made token efforts to acknowledge my low-intensity and high-boundary communication style, and even created and showed me a cheat sheet for how to communicate with me. However, on the next day, after that disastrous conversation about my retinitis pigmentosa condition, he outright admitted that he abandoned the cheat sheet, and had the gall to ask if our conversations went better than yesterday. I replied that it was hard to say, and I just felt that I had spent too much time talking to him already.
Wizard's Ban from OpenKotOR
Permalink to section 'Wizard's Ban from OpenKotOR'Outside of our DMs, it is worth adding that by the time I published this document, Wizard has been banned from the OpenKotOR community. He used to be an admin in OpenKotOR's Discord server, but was stripped of his admin position on June 15. Around a week later, Wizard was banned from the OpenKotOR Discord over disruptive behaviour in the server.
On July 8 (in my timezone), the admin team of OpenKotOR released an official statement in the Discord server about Wizard's ban. The statement revealed that Wizard had a sustained pattern of him acting unilaterally in his admin role, making significant changes without consulting the rest of the team, from server settings to creating and removing channels, and responding to questions about those changes with conflict rather than discussion. Furthermore, on May 4, without the knowledge or consent of the developers involved, Wizard also set up an OpenKotOR Patreon and moved to monetise a number of the community's projects under it. While Wizard agreed to undo it after the team raised it to him, in practice much of it was left for others to reverse. The admin team statement described this incident as a significant breach of trust.
When the OpenKotOR admin team banned Wizard from the OpenKotOR Discord server, Wizard hijacked OpenKotOR's GitHub organisation by taking sole control of it and removing the rest of the team. Fortunately, the OpenKotOR admin team has restored ownership to the GitHub organisation to the team. Wizard's ban from the OpenKotOR Discord server was initially meant to be a temporary disciplinary measure, but after Wizard's hijack of the GitHub organisation, his ban became permanent.
I noticed Wizard's hijack of OpenKotOR's GitHub organisation after he got banned from the Discord server, by changing the organisation name from OpenKotOR to OldRepublicDevs, with an added post-script to the organisation description: "PS: This used to be OpenKotOR but unfortunately creative differences have happened." The email contact address changed from openkotor@gmail.com to a Gmail address containing Wizard's first name. OpenKotOR's official website, openkotor.com, was also down and the website link was removed from the GitHub organisation. There was already a Wayback Machine snapshot of OpenKotOR's GitHub organisation on 17 May 2026, before Wizard's ban, so I created a new snapshot on 23 June 2026 as evidence of Wizard's hijack.
The OpenKotOR admin team's statement also noted that multiple community members had reached out to them privately, describing Wizard's harassment, repeatedly crossing boundaries after being asked not to, and conduct that left people feeling unsafe. As one of the people who had been targeted by Wizard for harassment and repeated boundary crossing, I appreciate the admin team for taking Wizard's harmful actions seriously. Banning him is the right call.
Closing Thoughts
Permalink to section 'Closing Thoughts'My parents had taught me since childhood to be wary of strangers who try to get friendly with me for no apparent reason, because strangers who act that way often have ulterior motives. Wizard's attempt to force friendship with me and subsequent series of boundary violations and assault on my autonomy only further proved my parents' teaching.
It is profoundly telling how invasive Wizard was that all the descriptions and dissections about Wizard's toxic behaviour displayed in our one-on-one interactions have already exceeded 5,000 words, despite the fact that those instances took place over the course of only two to three weeks. Even without including the above section about Wizard's ban from the OpenKotOR community, this document had crossed the 5,000 words mark.
Despite how much Wizard tried to claim otherwise, having ADHD does not excuse his boundary stomping. No matter how much Wizard tried to claim he was a good person with bad execution of good intentions, a genuinely benevolent and well-meaning person does not:
- Guilt trip someone with a progressive visual disability like retinitis pigmentosa by claiming they were "wasting scientific resources designed to help people like them" when they expressed disinterest in seeking experimental treatment and outright said they want to move on from the topic.
- Repeatedly try to push someone's boundaries and force friendship when they have explicitly told them multiple times that they were not respecting their boundaries and they only saw them as an acquaintance in a niche interest community.
Therefore, do not even try to convince me that Wizard had a good heart. I refuse to sugarcoat Wizard's manipulative and abusive actions and how horribly he treated me, because manipulators and abusers often thrive on rewriting reality.
